The National Food Safety Authority of Egypt has approved the use of Phageguard for all Poultry Processors in the country after a series of meetings and evaluations, extensively exploring the added value of applying Phage Technology to the Poultry Processing Industry for the control of Salmonella during production processes.

Receiving official approval on the 13th of September 2023, is more than just a confirmation of the effectiveness of Phage Technology; it is also a step forward for Food Safety across the Middle-East Countries. Phageguard, together with its partner CJM Management Consultancy, had an opportunity to meet with Dr. Elhouby, the chairman of the National Food Safety Authority, at the beginning of June. The purpose of the meeting was primarily to discuss the potential of applied Phage Technology for enhancing the Food Safety situation for Salmonella control in the Egyptian Poultry Industry. The approval for the Anti Salmonella phage solution Phageguard S (PGS), was given after further research on the topic was carried out with industry experts and legislators, acknowledging the importance of this regulatory step for the Egyptian Poultry Industry.

It is within the span of three months that the National Food Safety Authority of Egypt has given their endorsement of the Phageguard its Salmonella solutions and approved their use in the Raw Poultry Industry. As a result, Egyptian poultry processors now have a new tool that will allow them to improve the safety protocols of their Poultry Production.
